Arizona Hills Community Church actually started 10 years ago, being born in the hearts of Bob Lehman and his good friend in ministry, Dale Farwell. Long before many houses had been built in the Anthem area, Bob and Dale hiked to the top of the surrounding mountains overlooking the Anthem area and there prayed for and asked God to reach into this new community and make an impact for eternity. Shortly afterwards, AZ Hills began meeting in the Opera House at Pioneer Village, just south of Anthem. Our first official worship celebration was on Christmas Eve 2000. Over 100 people showed up for that celebration. We moved to Anthem Elementary School that summer and became the first church in Anthem. Starting a brand new church has been called the extreme sport of ministry. That’s true, however, studies show that starting a new church is the most effective form of reaching people known to man, and there is no better way to make a long-term contribution to the health of any community. As a community church, “we believe in a great commitment to the great commission and the great commandment will grow a great church!"

Jon Hatch has been a pastor at Arizona Hills since 2002. He believes that effective strategy determines ministry success. As executive pastor he is striving to implement the necessary strategies to help Arizona Hills Community Church accomplish it's mission of transforming lives and communities from the inside out.
Jon loves spending time playing and watching sports, and is very passionate about Chipotle burritos. He can also be found laughing and playing with his wife Amanda, and their three children: Connor, Anderson, and Kyndall. The Hatch's are second generation natives to Arizona.
